Tyler futrell
Tyler Futrell (b. 1983) is an Oslo-based composer, originally from northern California. He studied primarily with Bent Sørensen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Lee Hyla at the New England Conservatory, and Michael Jarrell at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He has worked with festivals and ensembles such as Ultima, Borealis, Weimar Spring Days, The Norwegian Soloists' Choir, Wiener Concert-Verein and London Contemporary Orchestra Soloists.
Pas de deux - for violinist and performer (2015)
In Pas de deux a set of "rules" are quickly understood: a performer standing behind must generate all motions (and therefore sounds) the violinist makes, and the violinist will continue the motion until it is stopped or changed by the performer. At first, a "puppet/puppet master" relationship seems to pertain, however over time the relationship grows more complex.
