Albert Schnelzer studied at the Malmö Academy of Music and at the Royal College of Music in London. His music is performed worldwide by orchestras such as BBC SO, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, NAC Orchestra Ottawa, Los Angeles CO, Melbourne SO, Danish National SO, Swedish Radio SO, Royal Stockholm PO and Gothenburg SO. Conductors and soloists include Thomas Dausgaard, Daniel Harding, Mark Wigglesworth, Kirill Karabits, Lionel Bringer and the Brodsky Quartet.
Aqua songs - for piano quartet (2015)
This piece was commissioned by The Royal Swedish Academy of Music for the official celebration of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, on his 70th birthday. The premiere took place at the Royal Opera on 29 April 2016 with H.M. present. The idea behind this piece was how the water in Stockholm surrounds us all and how we experience it.
