Adam Vilagi
Works by Hungarian-born composer Adam Vilagi (b. 1977) have been widely performed in Finland, in many European countries, in Japan and in Singapore. Numerous renowned Finnish musicians, such as the Kamus Quartet, guitarists Otto Tolonen and Petri Kumela, the Fantasia Quintet, have performed his compositions. International collaboration includes working with the NeoQuartet who premiered Adam's festival piece in 2016.
Hunger - for string quartet (2016)
Hunger was commissioned by the Pasimusic Festival and it’s dedicated to the NeoQuartet. The two main sources of inspiration for the compositional process were a melody originated from a Hungarian children’s song, and a realistic urban novel, There Were Many Horses by Brazilian writer Luiz Ruffato.
